another test image for my fairytale project. inspired by the old disney movies. i really admire the backgrounds they did in the 2d animated movies. awesome stuff.
can you give me some tips on how to add more depth into my pictures. i think thats one of my biggest problems. the images just don t look "deep" :/

Don't know if you are still looking for advice, but you could try this (what I've been taught in class):

The atmosphere makes things further away look lighter in color, also bluer and less saturated. You already have the mountains and the trees in the background lighter, you might try bluer.
For the red rocks, I would try making the shadows on the rock faces darker and bluer.

Hallo Adina,
ich verstehe, was du meinst mit "zu wenig Tiefe". (Meine Güte, bin ich froh, dass ich kein Grafiker/Maler bin, da stünde ich vor großen Problemen! ;-)) Der Stein mit dem Löwenkopf rechts ... an seiner linken Seite zum Brunnen hin stimmt etwas nicht. Auch zwischen dem linken Löwenstein und dem Brunnen sollte mMn von dunkel nach hell die Tiefe dargestellt werden. Du hast die Fläche von hell nach weniger hell in ocker eingefärbt, das wirkt wie eine Wand, nicht wie "Tiefe".

Kannst du mit meinen Anmerkungen etwas anfangen? Wir könnten uns auch per E-Mail detaillierter austauschen, wenn du Lust/Interesse hat ;-)

I think it looks perfect, but if you really want some depth, maybe add some foreground foliage...? Great word btw

Don't add more depth, it is perfect like it is. I get a real feeling of closed to open which is something that is what I think most people should go for. This work is awesome.
